Genesis 3:6

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Eve got three kinds of temptation.

1. Good for food

2. Pleasing to the eyes

3. Desirable for gaining wisdom

1. Good for food

is one of the biggest temptations that man can receive.

Because of food, people kill each other and destroy each other. In our life we

can apply “food” not only to food, but also to money, possessions, and

2. Pleasing to the eyes is the second temptation that Eve received.

She saw that the fruits were very pleasing to the eyes. We can apply the same things to our

daily lives. There are many things that are pleasing to the eyes but are dangerous.

Sex can seem pleasing to your eyes, but it is equally dangerous when

misused. Money seems pleasing to the eyes but it is also dangerous. Pleasure

seems good for the eyes but it can destroy your life. The beautiful cigarette

advertisements can be very enticing. They are packaged in beautiful boxes

with eye-catching colors so that even if you are not a smoker you will be

tempted. But when you start smoking it will be very difficult to stop.

That is why with television there are so many advertisements for products that

seem so pleasing, but actually they are dangerous for us.

3. Desire for wisdom is another big temptation that man can receive.

The human being has always had the desire to know more. There is nothing

wrong with that. But if we try to put our knowledge higher than God’s

wisdom then we are headed toward destruction. God has given us knowledge

to glorify Him, not to deny Him.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I try hard not to stumble in my walk of faith, but you know the temptations that I face today. I experience desires that lead me away from you.

Sometimes the temptation seems too strong for me.

The desires seem too powerful to resist. Strengthen me Lord, empower me Father.

Thank you Lord. In Jesus name!! AMEN

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

God bless you,
