5 ways to heal from a brokenheart.

Dear brokenhearted woman,

You saw the red flags right? But his smile was breath taking. I know.

You saw his character right? But you chose to ignore it.

You saw how he tried to make you insecure right? But you thought, never mind he will change.

Before you even met him you already knew what type of guy you were dealing with, right? But you thought nothing is too hard for God.

Today my heart goes out for women that have been dating a guy for months or years giving their all and forgetting about their own life.

I want to let you know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

I want to let you know that God still has a purpose for you!

All hope is not lost!

It is okay to cry, it is okay to talk about it. But please don’t stay there.

Because God wants to use you.

I remember three years ago, I went through a lot of pain.

At the age of 17 I thought that I had found love…I was a child and I didn’t know that I was supposed to love God, love myself and then love someone else.

All my hope went into one person. Why? Because I didn’t know better. This thought me a great lesson, it even caused me to understand the love of God more and more and more. It caused me to completely rely ON GOD in all that I do. The reason why I share this is because I’ve been through it and I want to share with you 5 ways that helped me to get over a broken heart and might help you as well.

GET RID OF SELF-PITY. I need you to first of all stop wasting your time and energy feeling sorry for yourself, start counting your blessings and thank God for all He has done for you!

. POUR OUT YOUR HEART;Cry out to God, cry out to your maker, cry out to your first love. (share with God how you feel, ask God to heal you from the pain)

The righteous cry, and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

  • REMEMBER: turn to only God for comfort.. don’t go and start rebound relationships with other people or start drinking alcohol.

  1. FIND SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP YOU. Talk about it to (your pastor, mother, father, sister, brother) someone you can talk to when it comes to such things. Someone that knows how to advice you to stay on a good path. Someone that has been through it before. Someone that will not encourage you to go and take revenge. Someone that will calm you down and make sure you stay under the wings of our father.

  2. FORGIVE HIM. There is healing power in being forgiven, or granting forgiveness to someone who has wronged you. Forgiveness brings closure and cleansing which will speed up the healing of your broken heart. FORGIVE AND MOVE ON.

  3. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY. Having a broken heart puts tremendous stress on your physical and emotional wellbeing. So dear its important to eat right, drink lots of fluids, exercise and find time to RELAX.

  4. RENEW YOUR MIND. You can do by refusing to dwell on unhealthy thoughts that enter your mind and then praying about them, asking the Holy Spirit to help you shift your focus to something positive that reflect biblical truth.

You have to know that some things we go through as women is supposed to make us stronger, it is for us to tell a story. A story that can transform someones life and bring them closer to Jesus Christ.

God bless you,

Cecile Appiah.
